Tierney on Brand

John Tierney (of the 'TierneyLab' blog and 'Findings' column in the NYT) has penned a brief biography and thinkpiece of Stewart Brand, noting the resurgence of interest in Brand's work of the past 4 decades - particularly Turner's From Counterculture to Cyberculture and a pending book by Andy Kirk focusing on Brand's environmentalist thinking and impact. This provides an Tierney an opportunity to bring up Brand's rethinking of various issues - nuclear power, scarcity, etc.

A good read for the archives, and a nice introduction.

Mr. Brand has also been kind enough to endorse my thriller novel of nuclear power, which is based on my twenty years in the US nuclear industry and is designed to provide a good overview of the topic for a lay person. I cover the good AND the bad. It is available free online at http://RadDecision.blogspot.com and also in paperback via online retailers.
